#15~ Whitman and Dickinson

NOT DONE

Compare:
1. They both approach death as a main theme.
2. They are both poets from the 19th century.
3. They both observed the world around them and wrote their thoughts on it.

Contrast:
1. Whitman uses mostly free verse and Dickinson favors slant rhyme.
2. Whitmans poetry is sometimes organized into "catelogs," while Dickinson's is in stanzas.
3. Whitman didn't follow that normal rules of poetry. His ideas and sentences run together. Dickinson, on the other hand, used proper grammar and writing technique for the time.
